We’re Hiring! Certified Event Planner

Event Planner Introduction:

Do you love planning events? Does getting the details right, and making sure everyone has a fantastic time sound like your ideal job, are you a multi-tasker, able to work under time constraints and meet deadlines? Are you a Certified Planner? If so, you might be great for our Event Planner position. This role provides great experience as you will coordinate and supervise many types of events, from weddings, private events to corporate events. We aim to make every event feel like “one of the books.” Our ideal candidate will always go the extra mile and realizes the importance of even the smallest of details.

Start Date:  Until filled

Position:    Casual

Shift:         The main function of this position is intended to be during core working hours of Victorian Diamond Events; however, this position will require alternate work plans involving evenings, weekends and/or stat holidays during peak times based on business demands, which do vary throughout the year and must be willing to travel within Saskatchewan.

 Event Planner Responsibilities:

In this role, you will report to the Owner and provide Lead Planner expertise to clients; Responsibilities may include:

  • Meeting with clients to discuss their needs and planning & coordinating their event
  • Meeting & coordinating with vendors, venues & other rental companies
  • Coordinating event staff required for the event
  • Evaluating events through guest feedback according to company procedures
  • Following a strict budget
  • Communicating to clients on any updates, concerns, and arranging details
  • Attending events to supervise staff, set up, provide takedown and make sure everything goes as planned
  • Solving problems that may arise during events
  • Coordinating & reserving rental orders for customers (meet with customer’s upon pick up and return of their rental order
  • Other duties as required

Event Planner Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of event coordinating experience
  • Experience delegating tasks & leading other staff
  • Certified Event Planning Diploma and/or Certificate (OR sufficient experience)
  • Post-secondary education in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Business (OR sufficient experience)
  • Experience in Marketing & Social Media Applications
  • Experience working with budgets
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to multitask
  • Professional demeanor & etiquette
